I was a keynote for HR Go, a £170 million turnover recruitment company. They have a family office as part of the business where all their joint ventures live. For this session, I did a kind of whistle stop tour of my end-to-end experience of Difrent: concept to sale of the consultancy in 1,000 days and also talked about setting up the Grafter. They were a fabulous crowd. Tough crowds can be just that, but I always feed off a fabulous one!
Interesting fact for this gig was that the new owner of the business had worked at GDS many years ago when I was CTO at DfE and that was how she’d tracked me down to get me along! Personally, I would have laid money that my speaking prowess at that time was a shocker – just goes to show!
Final shoutout to this client for including me in their day and giving me a gift box to take away exactly the same as they gave their team members. This is the first time they’d done that so I was genuinely touched – what a nice thought and totally inclusive.
