THE COMPANY
This anonymised client is a multi-award-winning healthcare communication platform designed by clinicians to eliminate communication barriers between healthcare staff and patients. The platform combines interpretation, translation, accessibility tools, patient information, and communication workflows, covering 2,500+ medical topics across 200+ languages. Used by 25+ NHS and US hospitals, the business was built around the mission of ensuring every patient can understand their care, regardless of language, disability, or circumstance.
THE CHALLENGE
Building a mission-driven health tech business is one challenge. But preparing that business for exit is an entirely different one. The business had strong fundamentals, including proven clinical utility, growing hospital adoption on both sides of the Atlantic, and a product suite that addressed multiple distinct patient communication barriers in a single solution. What it didn't yet have was the infrastructure to present all of that compellingly to a prospective acquirer.
ENGAGEMENT WITH THE GRAFTER
Working through the Grow Raise Exit programme in 2024, our engagement focused specifically on exit readiness: CIM: Confidential Information Memorandum developed to present the business clearly to prospective acquirers, articulating the platform's clinical value, commercial traction, and strategic fit for the right buyer
Data room: Full data room built and structured to give prospective buyers clean, well-organised access to the information they'd need to move forward with confidence
Exit positioning: Work throughout the programme to identify the right type of strategic buyers in the healthcare software space looking to expand their communication and accessibility capabilities
Deal exploration: Two prospective acquisition conversations explored in depth, including advanced discussions with a strategic acquirer in the healthcare software sector looking at a bolt-on acquisition
EXIT OUTCOME
The exit process is live and ongoing. The most advanced conversations to date have been with a strategic acquirer in the healthcare software space, exploring how the platform could complement an existing portfolio of healthcare technology products. Those conversations have not yet resulted in a completed deal, but they remain ongoing.
This client came to The Grafter with a differentiated healthcare platform and no exit infrastructure in place. If you're building something with real purpose and thinking about what comes next, it's worth having a conversation with us.
