The Opportunity
You will own the sales function and directly shape our growth trajectory in the UK market. This is not a sales support role.
We're looking for an experienced sales closer who can deliver a minimum of £500k of new UK business in 2026, closing 12+ clients at an average deal size of £50k, selling our exited founder led advisory service.
Hitting your targets and achieving success in this role could put you on a pathway to Managing Director, moving from sales delivery to strategic oversight of the broader global business, while retaining responsibility for key accounts. This is a potential founder-track position for someone who wants to build, scale, and eventually lead the growth components of a consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibility
Deliver £500k of new Exited founder led service revenue in 2026 by closing 12+ clients.
You will own the complete sales cycle end-to-end: pipeline generation, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and close. This will be achieved both through direct outbound, creating partnerships, and working with our social media, content and product team. This is a hunter role requiring someone who can open doors, build trust with senior founders and/or the infrastructure that surrounds them, and convert complex, high-value consulting engagements.
Sales Execution
- Own and manage the sales pipeline from qualification to close
- Work with our community to identify and convert members of our existing network of £1M-£30M revenue founders, CEOs, and business owners into loyal clients
- Expand this network, build a pipeline and generate new business opportunities through targeted lead generation activities
- Convert warm leads from monthly masterclasses, in-person events, and community platform into clients
- Qualify prospects, run discovery conversations, develop proposals, negotiate terms, and close deals at pace
- Manage a systematic CRM process to track opportunities, forecast pipeline, and report on sales performance
Partnership Development
- Activate partnership channels (investors, accountants, consultants, M&A, VC and PE firms) to start signing clients during 2026
- Identity, negotiate and land at least one partner in 2026 who offers the opportunity to work with a portfolio of potential businesses
- Equip partners with sales enablement materials and activities so they can confidently recommend The Grafter
- Build a repeatable partnership model that scales origination fees
Sales Infrastructure & Process
- Manage CRM system to systematically track, qualify, and close opportunities
- Develop and refine sales methodology, playbooks, and processes that can be replicated as the team scales
- Work with supporting team (Social Media and Content) to ensure clean handoffs and pipeline flow
Strategic Contribution
- Contribute to strategic decisions on go-to-market approach, pricing, positioning, and sales strategy
- Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to inform product development and service evolution
- Build foundations for potential transition to Managing Director role
- Produce data-led insights from your wins & losses to help influence the business strategy and roadmap
